📜Would you be surprised to know the reasons for these books' censure?

Dear Fellow Book Lover,

As we approach the final day of Banned Books Week, we invite you to take a closer look at the image above. This display is a quintessential representation of Banned Books Week, showcasing books that have faced challenges in various corners of the world, each with its unique reasons for censorship.

Did you know "The Giving Tree" was banned for anti-capitalism, "And Tango Makes Three"for featuring gay penguins, "I Am Jazz" for being a transgender biography, and even "Harry Potter"for its portrayal of witchcraft? The list goes on, with books like "The Day the Crayons Quit" being banned because a crayon asks why it's pulled off the paper, leaving it 'naked.' Never before have our right to read been so restricted.

In the midst of increasing debates over perceived inappropriate content, thousands of us across the country are calling out censorship every day, dedicating hours, days, months, and years to this important fight. What we can do is raise our voices and continue to raise awareness about censorship.

As Banned Books Week draws to a close, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all BooksWares customers who have spoken out and stood up for the right to read. Let's stand together with the books we cherish and reclaim our right to read. Your support makes all the difference.

With all the love for our literature,

Warmest regards,

The BooksWares Team
