Hidden among the bookshelves, the armchair, the stockings and the balls of yarn are 24 little doors. Behind each one is a famous cat (or a rather big cat) from a classic book, poem, fable, myth or nursery rhyme. Every morning in December, find the door, open it and guess which cat it is.

How it works

1. Find the door. Search the cosy cat-filled library for today's number, hidden on a bookshelf, a window, a stack of books or the old clock.
2. Open it. A hand-drawn picture of a famous literary cat is waiting inside.
3. Guess the cat, and where it comes from. Name the cat, then the book, poem or story.
4. Check the answers on Christmas Eve. All 24 cats, with their stories, authors and dates, are listed on an illustrated answer sheet, sealed in its own envelope.
