It's Christmas Eve in the old church library. The Advent candles are lit, the star is shining over the little Nativity scene, and Father Christmas is reading from a big old Bible to two sleepy children.
All around them, among the bookshelves, the stained-glass windows, the wooden Noah's ark and the Christmas tree, 24 little doors are hiding. Behind each one is a picture from a much-loved Bible story. Every morning in December, find the door, open it and guess the story.
Like a traditional Jesse Tree, the stories travel through the whole Bible, from the Creation, Noah's Ark and Moses to David, Jonah and Daniel, and arrive on Christmas Eve at the stable in Bethlehem.

- Find the door. Search the church library for today's number, hidden on a bookshelf, a window or a candle.
- Open it. A gentle hand-drawn scene from a Bible story is waiting inside.
- Guess the story. Name the story, then find it in the Bible together.
- Check the answers on Christmas Eve. All 24 stories, with their Bible references, are listed on an illustrated answer sheet, sealed in its own envelope.
