It’s Christmas Eve at the Mistletoe Arms, the fire is crackling, the mince pies are out… and the Squire has been found in the snug, sherry glass in hand, never to wake.

Six villagers are in the pub. One of them did it. Hidden around the bar, the beams, the cellar and the snowy garden are 24 little doors, and behind each one is a clue: a footprint in the snow, a torn letter, a strand of green wool. Every day in December, open one door, read the clue and get closer to the truth.

Was it the vicar? The major with the very big boots? The postmistress who knows everyone’s business? Or someone you would never suspect?

How it works

Meet the suspects. Read the illustrated suspect card: the vicar, the major, the postmistress, the landlord, the lady from the Women’s Institute and the village bobby.
Find today’s door. Search the pub, cellar and garden for the right number.
Open it and read the clue. Each door shows a hand-drawn picture and one line of evidence.
Name your culprit. On Christmas Eve, break the seal on the envelope and check the solution, with the reason every other suspect is cleared.
